• How to install on a Mac
• Unzip the downloaded file.

If double clicking doesn‘t work, right-click on INSTALL_MT-PowerDrumKit.mpkg and select `Open`.

Just follow the instructions in the installer window.

Afterwards restart your DAW. The plugin should now be available as a virtual instrument in your DAW. Some users reported that restarting the Mac after installing the plugin helped the DAW to scan and recognize the plugin.

If you can‘t find the instrument in your DAW, make sure that you downloaded and installed the correct plugin format (VST, AU, AAX) for your particular DAW. For instance: The DAWs Logic and GarageBand don‘t support the VST format at all, but only the AU format. Most other DAWs support both VST and AU and some support only VST. The DAW ProTools however only supports AAX, but not VST or AU.

If the plugin doesn't show up in your DAW, you can get further help on the following page:

• VST2 or VST3 ?
• If you are a new user of MT-PowerDrumKit, we recommend to install the VST3 version, in case your DAW supports it. It is more future proof, since in the long run VST2 won't be supported by all DAWs anymore (for instance, Steinberg announced to ditch the support of VST2 for future Cubase versions and will only support VST3 plugins).

If you used MTPDK before and you just want to update to the latest version, feel free to get the VST2 version, as it will work without problems with your current DAW and your projects you already made using the plugin.

However, we also recommend existing users to install the VST3 version alongside the current VST2 version. It will be recognized as a seperate plugin, so that your existing projects will still run with the VST2 version. But it is recommended to create all new music projects using the VST3 version from now on, just to be future proof.
• There is no drum sound when re-opening the project.
• That might be a misunderstanding about the free version of the plugin. The free version has no sound until you click the START button in the bottom right of the plugin window. So you have to open the plugin window once at the beginning of every session, even if the plugin has already been added to the project.

After skipping the start screen there are no limitations.

By buying a key i.e. donating you can disable this start screen permanently and get instant sound at the beginning of your session. That is entirely optional though.

• I get the message: "...can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer."
• You have to do a RIGHT CLICK and then select "Open". You will get the same warning message, but with an additional button to open it anyway.

• The plugin doesn't show up in my DAW
• Can I import third party MIDI grooves?
• Importing custom MIDI grooves into the plugin is not possible in the current version. However, many DAWs have their own Media Explorer integrated which you can browse and prelisten the MIDI grooves from.

• Multi Output: How to apply different effects to each drum
• The plugin always starts with the language selection page, which is annoying.
• If that happens on every start, you haven't given the DAW the permission to write into the "Documents" folder, where most of the plugins settings are stored. You can do that in the system preferences of your Mac, as shown here:

• Drag-and-Drop is not working.
• The user interface i.e. the plugin window is empty.
• If your DAW software finds the plugin and is able to load it, but the plugin window is empty and has no user interface, the following solution will most likely work.

Just download and install the latest version of the plugin:
